Yes indeed folks! The Fred is back! And this time for good! I have since finished up my coaching career (with a state championship, no less) and I'm back on the back. I'm trying to work my way out of "Fred" status but I'm not sure that's going to happen. Either way, I'm back and I'm ready to blog all things cycling!
Before we begin, anyone know a good way for a Fred to get some cycling sponsorship?? I need to find a way to get some super expensive gear for my bike so I can do some previews and reviews on my page. If anyone knows how to secure something like this then please let the Fred know.
Now, on to the cycling...I'm back riding at a comfortable level and learning new things on the bike. It's comforting to know that you can teach an old dog new tricks. Since I'm no longer coaching basketball I plan to spend a majority of my time becoming an elite masters endurance athlete! And please people, do NOT be like my wife and shatter my dreams before they begin. I'm trying to pull a Dara Torres and make the Olympic team at 38!
Anywho...this blog is going to take on more of an interactive approach as I'll be sharing some of my riding routes through Staunton, Augusta County and the like. Hopefully, I'll share some routes that people have yet to ride and hopefully, I'll have a chance to learn some other routes as well.
Well, I'm outta here for the moment. Time to take advantage of the sporadic amounts of sunshine and get out for a ride!
